ELECTRO-OXIDATION (EO)
Patented electro-oxidation breaks the carbon-fluorine bonds that make PFAS a “forever chemical,” converting it into harmless CO₂ and fluoride — safely, onsite, at ambient temperature and pressure.

REMOTE OPERATION
HOW IT WORKS
Inside the reactor
01
Continuous current, non-sacrificial electrodes
Process water flows through the Obreak® reactor, where a continuous electrical current passes through non-sacrificial electrodes submerged in the stream.
02
Direct and indirect oxidation
Electron transfer at the anode surface, combined with in-situ generation of oxidants, drives the stepwise breakdown of the carbon-fluorine bond PFAS is built on.
03
Mineralization, not relocation
The C-F bond breaks down into carbon dioxide and fluoride ions — both harmless at low concentration — eliminating transportation and long-term disposal liability.
04
Configurable to your site
Anode selection and system sizing adapt to technical, regulatory, and financial requirements — as a standalone step or inside a full integrated treatment train.
THE MECHANISM
Direct and indirect oxidation, stepwise
WHY OBREAK™
Built for operators, not just chemists
Ambient conditions
Operates safely at ambient temperature and pressure — no exotic infrastructure required.
Fully automated
Energy efficient and easy to maintain, with remote operation for lean staffing models.
Lower long-term liability
Onsite destruction eliminates the transportation and disposal risk that comes with adsorption-only methods.
Extends media life
Reduces PFAS load reaching downstream GAC or resin polishing, extending replacement intervals.
WHERE IT WORKS
High-destruction efficiency across water treatment applications
Drinking Water Plant
Landfill Leachate Treatment
Municipal Wastewater Plant
Groundwater Remediation
Water Reuse Plant
Industrial Wastewater (surface finishing, semiconductors, PFAS manufacturing)
Configurable by anode selection to meet technical, regulatory, and financial needs — as a standalone step or the complete integrated treatment train.
PROVEN PERFORMANCE
Highly effective on concentrated streams

Foamate from foam fractionation

Concentrate from ion-exchange resin regeneration

Concentrate from reverse osmosis (RO)

AVAILABLE NOW
Delivered in a container or trailer, or as a fixed installation inside a building.

CASE STUDY
Onsite PFAS destruction for landfill leachate at PVSC
Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission — the largest wastewater facility in New Jersey — piloted E2METRIX’s closed-loop Olift® + Obreak® system on trucked-in landfill leachate ahead of anticipated NJPDES PFAS limits, eliminating the need for offsite disposal.
