New Patent for E2metrix

Human activities are increasingly harming the ecosystem. Excessive release of nutrients to the environment due to intensive agricultural activities, for instance, accelerates the phenomenon called eutrophication. The problematic nutrients include primarily nitrogen and phosphorus.  This phenomenon leads to water quality degradation, the proliferation of invasive, and sometimes toxic, species, which will lead to the complete destruction of the particular ecosystem.

In addition to its patent application for nutrient recovery, E2metrix is proud to announce that a new patent has been issued for its ECOTHOR™ electro-technology platform. This patent covers the harvesting of microalgal biomass at very low energy costs. Its application is quite broad, and can cover different algal strains of commercial interest, or even of those used in the fight against greenhouse gas emissions.
